DKI Akan Bangun 50 SPBG Baru

City Gears Up to Build 50 New SPBGs

As an effort to success government’s program on subsidized fuel abolition, Jakarta Industry and Energy Department is about to build 50 new gas stations (SPBG) in five municipalities this year.

Later, each municipality in Jakarta will have 10 new SPBGs to meet the needs for motor vehicles’ fuel in the capital city

“Later, each municipality in Jakarta will have 10 new SPBGs to meet the needs for motor vehicles’ fuel in the capital city,” stated Head of Jakarta Industry and Energy Department, M Haris Pindratno, Wednesday (10/8).

According to Pindratno, Jakarta Provincial Government opens opportunity for private investors to open SPBG business which is quite promising. For that, his department will provide ease on licensing processing and ready to guarantee gas fuel supply to investors who want to invest in SPBG business in Jakarta.

Mobile SPBGs to Serve Jakartans Soon

“The SPBGs could be built in the lands belong to the investors, Jakarta Provincial Government’s or City-Owned Enterprises (BUMD)’s, like TransJakarta bus pool, using cooperation pattern that is mutually beneficial,” he explained.

If those new SPBGs have been built, Pindratno disclosed that Jakarta Provincial Government will require all yellow license plate vehicles (public transports) to use gas fuel.

“Yellow license plate vehicles must undergo road-worthiness test (KIR) once in every six months. If they didn’t use gas fuel, their KIR certificates cannot be renewed. That’s why we have to prepare the SPBGs first and then implement use of gas fuel,” he asserted.
